<image:title>About - History</image:title>
<image:caption>Maury County Title Co., Inc. was founded in 1986 by a group of local attorneys who wanted to provide southern middle Tennessee with a title company that did things right — thorough searches, clean closings, and an attorney involved at every step. Nearly four decades later, that commitment hasn't changed. We've closed thousands of residential and commercial transactions across Maury County and the surrounding counties. From Columbia to Culleoka, Spring Hill to Hampshire, Mt. Pleasant to Santa Fe — we know this area's property records, and we know the issues that come up in them. Today, Maury County Title is wholly owned by Muletown Law, P.C. The attorneys of Muletown Law search every title, review every commitment, and close every transaction. This integrated structure means that when a title problem surfaces — and they do — we can identify it, explain it, and fix it without sending you to a separate law firm. We provide title examinations, title insurance, closing and escrow services, document preparation, and IRS reporting — everything required to close a real estate transaction in Tennessee.</image:caption>

<image:caption>PRESIDENT & ATTORNEY Thomas M. Hutto received his B.S. in Geology from Sewanee: The University of the South in 1998 and his Juris Doctorate from the Nashville School of Law in 2012. He was licensed to practice law in Tennessee in 2013. Thomas joined Maury County Title in 2013 and became President of the company. He is also the principal attorney of Muletown Law, P.C., which provides title opinions, title examinations, and legal services for the title company's operations. His integrated knowledge of title insurance, real estate law, estate planning, and probate gives him a unique perspective on the issues that arise in real estate transactions — from tracing ownership through multiple estates to resolving boundary disputes and clearing title defects. Thomas also serves as the City Attorney for Lewisburg, Tennessee. He is active in the Columbia community, having served with Columbia Breakfast Rotary, the Maury County Arts Guild, the Maury County Boys and Girls Club, and the Maury County Historical Society. <image:title>Home - Why Maury County Title</image:title>
<image:caption>Most title companies use non-attorney examiners to search titles and contract closers to conduct closings. We don't. At Maury County Title, the attorneys of Muletown Law, P.C. search every title, review every commitment, and sit at every closing table. That means the person handing you documents at closing is the same person who searched the title and can answer your questions — not someone reading from a script. We've been closing real estate transactions in Columbia, Tennessee since 1986. Our team has searched thousands of titles in Maury County and the surrounding counties, and that experience shows when a search turns up something unexpected. We've seen it before, and we know how to fix it. When a title problem requires legal work — a quiet title action, a missing heir, an unreleased lien — our law firm handles it directly, without you having to find a separate attorney. That's the advantage of having a title company and a law firm under the same roof.</image:caption>
